We're all in this together, and you're either with us or against us. Part 3

2020.05.26 02:07 biggreekgeek We're all in this together, and you're either with us or against us. Part 3

Part 1
Part 2
Since 2001 their narrative has programmed us for the NEW NORMAL and now the narrative shall slowly become WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER.
There have been indicators of the predictive programming change running concurrently with the predominant program.
In political communication, the phrase "you're either with us, or against us" and similar variations are used to depict situations as being polarized and to force witnesses, bystanders, or others unaligned with some form of pre-existing conflict to either become allies of the speaking party or lose favor. The implied consequence of not joining the team effort is to be deemed an enemy.
They chose this slogan as our rally point waiting for the conflict to be unleashed. This predictive programming had to be unnoticeable, since it had to infect all of us and be continually reinforced for their plans epoch, a culmination which couldn't be questioned and criticized.
Examples of the uniform behavior message they're programming through the medium of electronic information.
Hillary Clinton said on September 13, 2001: "Every nation has to either be with us, or against us. Those who harbor terrorists, or who finance them, are going to pay a price."
President George W. Bush, in an address to a joint session of Congress on September 20, 2001 said, "Every nation, in every region, now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists."
The Republicans vs. The Democrats. After years of fighting, in the face of great danger, unify. The message is clear, we may fight, we may disagree, but when there is a threat to our survival, WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!
There are more political examples of this slogan out there, if you dare to start questioning your parents authority.
Because your politician's have become your parents, constantly arguing in front of their children (voters), causing their children to mimic their behavior? And when they tire of their children mimicking them, they would say, IS THIS HOW YOU WANT IT TO BE (New Normal), fine, GO TO YOUR ROOM (self isolate). Yet when a child suddenly engages in self destructive behavior because the child lacks the neccessary comprehension to understand the negative ramifications of his behavior or the danger he is facing, suddenly the parents unify, WE'RE A FAMILY, TOGETHER WE CAN BEAT ANYTHING (we're all in this together).
Us vs Them. The hidden message of us was everywhere, but we didn't see it. We still don't. That's the plan. Do you start a relationship with an abusive partner? Not willingly. Yet it happens, constantly. Why? Because they give you what you want and tell you what you want to hear.

Don't worry, be happy. Do what I say, don't look at what I do. Don't look at the messages delivered through our mass media medium, just keep arguing with each other over with all of the division our tactics have caused in you. This is the WITH US OR AGAINST US sub narratives that have us trapped, unable to see the Chess game they're moving you in.
The narrative has been in full swing since we were children.
In the movie Beauty and the Beast, Gaston tells fellow citizens of his village that "If you're not with us, you're against us," and thereafter locks up Belle and her father so he can hunt the Beast.
In the climax of the film Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, Anakin Skywalker (aka Darth Vader) says to Obi-Wan Kenobi, "If you're not with me, then you're my enemy."
A professional wrestling faction in WWE, called The Nexus, used the slogan "You're either Nexus, or you're against us".
In the Smallville episode "Shattered", Lex Luthor tells Clark Kent, "You're either with me or against me, Clark. Choose right now."
In the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2003 TV series episode "The Shredder Strikes, Part One" The Shredder tells the Turtles "Those who are not with me are against me, and I crush anyone who stands against me!" right before facing them for the first time.
In the film X-Men: First Class, Dr. Klaus Schmidt / Sebastian Shaw tells the X-Men, "If you are not with us, then by definition, you are against us."
Russell Hantz frequently uses a variation of the line, "You're either with me or against me," as an intimidation tactic towards his competition and fellow allies in Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, the twentieth edition of the show. Sandra Diaz-Twine bluntly replies, "I'm against you, Russell.
In Red Dead Redemption II, when Arthur Morgan and John Marston confront their outlaw gang leader, Dutch Van Der Linde, about Micah Bell's treachery, Dutch points his guns towards them and asks the others, "which amongst you is with me, and who is betraying me!"
Messages for the future adults in your children's entertainment. Children's PROGRAMS for their PROGRAMMING.
Can you see the CODING in the PROGRAMMING? Or are you a part of the PROGRAM?

Setting EOS RP profiles to Lightroom and Camera Raw.
Hey guys
Bit of a read, but I think will benefit you as an RP user who edits their files from RAW.
https://preview.redd.it/sjp1upugz5041.jpg?width=2530&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b1443b2179fdf6e029a25d0d9870bddcdb68ef8e
I shared these details on Facebook a few days ago and feel it may be useful to share here. I had seen a few posts from various areas stating that the colors of the RP were not comparable to their previous canon models with some images, even with studio lit work, looking flat and requiring a lot of work in post. I believe this is due to Adobe not having a camera profile for the RP, resulting in the 'Adobe Standard' being used as default when you import your RAW files into Lightroom or Camera Raw. Of course with RAW's you have the creative ability to play with an image to your liking, but I find the Canon profiles to be a much better starting point than adobe standard, more true to the 'canon colors' that people like sell.
To fix this, I used a RAW CR3 file from the RP and put it in Adobe DNG profile editor. I've opened all the 6D MKII profiles and saved them all individually, renaming them for the RP. The reason I have used the 6D MKII is that it shares the same sensor to the RP, so technically color should be the same.
You can download these files here;https://drive.google.com/…/13xjBARlGRNL84P7E_5Tl79lAfp6ZizCH
Download all the files and place them in a folder titled Canon EOS RP. Copy the folder and paste to;
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom Classic\Resources\CameraProfiles\Camera
OR
C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Camera
If you are a MAC user, the path will be different. To import the profiles, Import a RAW into Lightroom (unedited) and go to develop. Click profile (see pic attached) and import the the files. You can import them all at once by holding shift. Relaunch Lightroom. You can now browse the profiles and set it to Canon standard (or another if you please). go to 'Develop' (again, see pic) and 'set default setting'. You will now have a canon profile on all RAW files that you import.

2019.08.26 09:43 Tillannook2 The Beginning of another universe i'll throw away.

This is a generalized history of the time before writing was created. None of this can be taken truly as fact as hundreds of years of oral tradition may have changed details.
The world has shifted 9 times. Each shift has lasted 1,001 years. All shiftings exist over eachother and by moving in the fourth direction, one can move between them. Although this is a rare insight to actually achieve.
The first shift was created when magic entered the realm. There was no god, there was wandering magic. Traveling between many realms before settling here. The magic was very strong and primal, the first shift was heaps of fire, earth, rock, air and void.
The Second Shift happened when they decided to work together (or at the instant they made the desicion, both shifts happened at once but when percieved, this is the second shift, starting Year 1002. The Rock clumped into spheres, the void parted from within them. The water came to the newfound land and the air filled the skies. It was a dead, lonely planet. The fire collected and created the sun and stars. The Planet you're on has five moons, two medium sized and three small ones. Your planet is quite big...

The Third Shift happened when life entered at the beginning. Life sprang to be on the rock, starting as only fauna. This is when the Pella (Plant) People were created, this is when there was no war.

The Fourth Shift happened when knowledge was spread. The creation of individuality caused life to diversify, creating animals, bugs, e.t.c.

The Fifth Shift happened when Inna/Ima/InaIlla created the races of elves with the help of The Primordial God. This created many races.

The Sixth Shift happened when The Primordial God created humans within his dream, whimming them into existence.

The Seventh Shift happened when a Human Male, Deltrus, shifted the magic in the universe, allowing it to be manifested by anyone, at any time. Different people have different levels of connection and reserves though.

The Eight Shift happened when a Female Elf, Estria, Created many things in the world, upheaving it into creation, settlement and prosperity.

The Ninth Shift happened when Humans took over the entire world, rebuilding it in their favor. The Annexed were the last to fall and thus, were doomed to fall first. The Annexed were created during the third shift. They are very wise...

Main Gods (Four) The Primordial God - This god holds much power over creation and the 5 basic elements. Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Void. The Primordial God conceived the universe and most large-scale things within it.

The Death God - This god created the soul and thus, is the only one who can reap it. He collects and reuses souls, recreating them into new beings. He has much power of death, pestilence, mental diseases and fear. He is noble, however.

The Aether God - This god created the Magic that "invaded" the universe. This magic gave birth to The Primordial God as it was much like The Aether's spore, procreating a new being.

The Earthly God - People find this god in many places and call it many things. Often connected to nature/geography. The Earthly God is the being that creates Gravity. He also allows humans to harness magic on a large scale by harmonizing himself with it, allowing himself to act like a conduit for them. This also means for their enemies though...

Side Gods (Six) The God of Silence, Veema - The God of Silence holds dominion over the feelings of murder, passion and subterfuge. A Thief's God, A Killer's God, An Artist's God. They often influence thoughts, dreams, visions and can grant powers or benefits to their faithful.

The God of Boasting, Turkin - The God of Boasting is the enemy of The God of Silence. The God of Boasting holds dominion over spreading knowledge, incitement and debate. He is a logical god that is viewed as rash however. He often sways people into starting revolutions, although they are for a good cause, they often result in the deaths of his followers due to overwhelming forces.

The God of Lies, Barl - The God of Lies is the enemy of The God of Truth. The God of Lies holds dominion over conspiracies, control, slavery and deceit. The God of Lies can appear as anyone, at any time. He will try to trick you and force you into situations of his design, a pawn on his board. Be wary, young logician.

The God of Truths, Pelina - The God of Truths is a Noble God Woman. She holds dominion over Truth, Judgement, Fanaticism, Supression of Knowledge, causing discourse with Turkin. She often creates Zealots and created angels, influencing the humans into an unstoppable army.

The God of Light, Aera - The God of Light is a beautiful woman in a white dress. She holds dominion over healing, hearth, childbirth, light, love and compassion. She is a very popular god.

The God of Darkness, Umbaka - The God of Darkness is a very powerful daemon. Appears as a man with a sword for one hand. He has dominion over Darkness, Pain, Suffering, Oppression, Annexing, Denial and Self Worth. Another very popular god...

Nature Gods (Two)

Yyl - (Yee-eel) - Is a tree that taps into the conduit of the earth due to unusually deep roots. Has dominion over all fauna, excluding the Pella. The Pella are connected to Yyl like siblings, so they work together.

The Masked - The Masked is someone in a cloak and mask. They're a god of The Annexed and are known as an Angel to The Humans. The Masked is very unusually strong and human-like.

Unique (Two)

Ina - Inna,Ina,Illa,Ima, e.t.c. Is a spirit that was present from very early on, gaining much knowledge from each shift. They are almost as powerful as the main gods and are very weird acting, due to their unknown motives.

Ymi/Umi/Imi/Emi/Omi/Oni - Is a spirit that was created from the creation of souls. When souls were created for the livings, spirits were created for the primordial forces. Oni was the first created and has the power of transendence. This allows him to surpass his limits situationally. sometimes he proves useless, when very passionate he can rival the power of all 4 main gods. Oni doesn't interact with humans much.

(Four Primordial Spirits) Fira - A spirit of a living blue flame, can become an atronach when needed to fight. Fira controls fire created by humans, being the planets main conduit for those energies. Rivera - A spirit that lives in two fish and the moon. Destruction of one will cut water magic by 1/4th! Destroying all 3 would almost nullify water magic. Silic - A spirit made of living crystals and the energy between them, seemingly invincible and intangible. Controls the power of earth magic. Lineim - A spirit made of ash and wind, but not fragile. They control the weather, crop, some other things.

(Two Moral Spirits) Approve - Approve is the spirit of Altruism, Peace, Balanced, Open-Minded, e.t.c. Desec - Desec is the spirit of Judgement, Hatred, Off Balance, Arrogance, e.t.c. These spirits will grant you unique powers the closer your moral compass moves towards them.

Contracts can be made with spirits to enhance items, weapons, clothing or spells. They can be made for life altering affects if you find a strong enough spirit and a good offering. These spirits will often ask for things personal to them but many wishes require blood to be fulfilled. The Caster's or another's. Doesn't matter.

Spirits are generally split into four groups by The Mechin, leaders in magic.

North - Northern Spirits are spirits with focus on nature, goodwill, understanding, foretelling and "light" magics. North Spirits often strike mutually beneficial deals. West - Western Spirits are wise, dark, secluded and powerful spirits. The Guardian of the Western Gate has control over death itself... South - Southern Spirits are very primordial, coming from the earth itself. They are born and reabsorbed many times a month, so they are weak. They have access to the elements though. East - Eastern spirits are cold, distant, logical and very magically powerful. They'll often accept experimental contracts. Something that they'll collect valuable/interesting data from. Some of them have gone crazy... The more crazy they are, the more power they have.

Souls and their Manifestations are split into three groups. Humanoid - Humanoid souls are like shinigami from bleach. They're quire powerful and intangible to most beings.

Beastly - Dark spirits, twisted by their misfortune.

Ghostly - Malevolent Spirits, created by evil hearts.

Above the NWSE factions of spirits are 2 more spirit types.

Drel - Physical spirits, they are created in objects that have had great passion, intent and focus put into them. (Think The Kral's Swords. They're actually just the world's best enchanters due to the loophole that Drel are Physical. But they take a long time to enchant one master sword...)

Saela - Intangible Spirits. Spirits of the elements. Ex. Spirit of a lake, of the volcano, of the mountain, of the tree, e.t.c.

Above Drel/Saela is one type Vindicator - Judgemental Spirits that wander. They guide troops around vaguely but mainly search out unjust people to reap their souls and destroy them. Scary beasts indeed. Dunno how they're the only hostile ones. Only 1-2 good vindicators out of them all.. They kill them, they do not literally reap their soul. Only the God of Death can do that.

Above Vindicator is two types

Blood God - A God of human intent over time. Gods of human emotions, desires, wants, needs. Human's innate potential has created them to be very, very strong. Often caught up with necromancers and "Demon worshippers." Blood Gods are not bad though, they just recieve the blood for their own ends and lend power. They've stopped being responsible multiple folds ago.

Ash God - A God of human/elven death over time. Gods of human sorrow, bittersweetness, final thoughts and depression. Humans energy that is released on death can collect to create Ash Gods. Ash Gods are very finnicky and rarely strike a deal. It seems to be random when they will, but who knows. They're the most powerful "lower class" spirits.

Kingdoms
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
=======Humans======= Humans are versatile and have 3 treaties! Very helpful indeed as it gives them a wide variety of troops they can use. They focus mainly on direct damage and evasion. They have lots of concrete/mudbrick structures. They look 1600'sish in architecture with old masonic chapels. The Humans are mainly white as different colors of humans belong to separate kingdoms. They are religious zealots.

======Delve===== The Delves are dark purple/light blue skinned. They are very sneaky and untrustworthy. They have no allies but are a very strong force, they lack diversity though. They are assassins, sneaks, long-range archers and they always have a trick up their sleeve.

=====Kral===== The Kral are people who build kingdoms out of sandstone, mud, clay, e.t.c. They are black-skinned people who excel in military warfare. Think Sparta. They have a lot of different tyes of melee/ranged units but do not use magic. Their magical abilities are replaced with special attacks. =============

=====Mechin===== The Mechin are pure white-light pink colored people. They focus heavily on magic other than conjuration. They have allied themselves with spirits. Elementals, Spirits, Aeons. The Mechin are mysterious people and their castles look as though they're made of a water mirage, beautiful silver and gold. ==============

=====Dogen===== The Dogen are the "demons" of the realm. Instead of being bad in general, they vary like most people. They're just unlucky enough to live in a global dictatorship of their race. These people are bad, not merchants, civilians and even some of the warriors. They focus on conjuration magic, fire damage and beasts. ===============

=====Pella==== The Pella are plant people. Made of vines, flowers, branches and so on, they are in tune with nature and have a treaty with all sorts of beasts and mythical creatures. They have treaties with specific spirits and natural forces. (Treants, so on.) ============

=====Larka==== The Larka are shadow people who excel in necromancy and witchcraft. They're very proficient in curses, mobbing the enemy with a lot of weak troops and being able to have a few very, very strong troops. Their allies have a chance of reviving after being killed, watch out... Use fire magic or blunt damage to prevent ressureccion ============

=====Deveen==== Strange gold and silver people, they specialize in magic and melee combat. They are seemingly made of metal... They focus on fewer, more skilled troops. They're very strong with their generic units, making it so they don't have to rely on big creatures at all, unless they wish to use them. ===============

====Uma===== The Uma are people of all colors. They build their castles in lakes, protecting them naturally. But they do not have walls. Instead the siege 2 phase is replaced with trying to cross the water (archers...) They have diverse troops from almost every other castle mixed together. They have an alliance to God. They can draw power from him and summon the strongest angels.. ============

====Renegades==== The Renegades have no castle but instead are enemies you can recruit by taking over their dens/hideouts. Many different types of creatures here.===============

====The Nateralus==== The Nateralus are long descended from The Ancient Civilization that was destroyed by the humans. They are light-green skinned people with very long tendrils instead of hair. (Kind-of like kit fisto, but not. More human looking.) ==================

Oral History (Non Pella, Ancient Ones. Only after the 9th shift began.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
(Too much text to fix passed this point, even lazily, sorry.)
950 BK - A group of humans follow Relik into the caves, going deep beneath the surface.

920 BK - The Kral say they shifted from other humans 30 years after The humans that would become The Delves went underground. The Kral say they were changed when a spirit offered them a deal. They would lose all magical connection, but in return their physical abilities would far exceed any other things on the planet. The Kral Agreed and were turned dark-skinned, showing them to be the opposite of their Human counterparts. The Kral worshipped this spirit for a long time before realizing that ALL spiritual connection meant even the one who 'helped' them. The one that helped them is named Ima, and they absorbed all of the Kral's magical ability, growing to be immensely powerful. Ima is quite strange indeed and seems to play a bigger roll on the planet than they try to give off.

880 BK - The Human's Kingdom splits into two factions, one following the light and one following the Arcane.

865 BK - The soon-to-be Mechin find the Dereen in ancient buildings under the sand. Once awoken, a device strips all Mechin of their connection to nature, keeping them from using healing-type abilities and nature abilities but far increasing their sensitivity to arcane magic. The Mechin are almost destroyed by the Dereen and only 6 sages make it out alive and start to travel the world, teaching their magics and spreading their genes.

850 BK - An apprentice of one of the wise men studies their cut-off from life energy and invents Necromancy. Eventually him and his students will become The Larka...

845 BK - The Kral have a minor engagement with The Dereen, destroying a wandering party of theirs and learning to steel smith from the metal in The Dereen's bodies. They make headway into inventing new weapons for people and for war.

840 BK - The Humans who follow the light find an ancient civilization in secret and all but wipe it off the face of the earth before realizing their importance. The Annexed are brought back to their Kingdom.

838 BK - A few survivors of the ancient civilization toss a gem into the water and two years later, Pella arrive from the sea. People made of vines, plants, branches, e.t.c. They seem to be connected directly to the life of all things and have weak arcane magic due to it.

750 BK - The Mechin build another stronghold, Mechina, They make their mark on the world by their capital floating high in the sky with storms taking out any potential invaders.

735 BK - The Dereen attack the humans after learning of them destroying the ancient civilization, apparently an Old Ally of The Dereen. They do quite a number on the humans before being pushed back by The Annexed and their Angels.

720 BK - The Delve return from the planet's caves. They have changed color and become much more sneaky. They appear to be good at first, implanting themselves into many societies before shortly causing great turmoil. In what was called The Great Disobedience, they stole things from all over the world, crippled governments and destroyed economic structures. They sew such a distrust in people that no kingdoms would be formed until 0 BK. Everyone lived in tribes/villages or in a fuedal system based around a duke, or a small land owner. But no kingdoms or empires emerged for 700 years.

680 BK - The Larka excel in this new world, able to take out settlements and practice necromancy on their bodies without fear of war being waged. They grow very powerful and encounter Ima in an attempt to bridge the gap between life energy and astral energy, attempting to physically walk in the plane of the spirits. They are granted this by Ima, and Ima tells them that their magic is new and unique. Once it is discovered that they are twisting and "recoding" the souls of the bodies, they are banished from the spirit realm and walk the planet as physical manifestations of shadow. Showing that the spirits have stripped light energy from them and they are now desecrated forms of their once beautiful, slim featured selves.

620 BK - The Pella create Petrified Forest, a place of sleeping troops. Although it looks like a long-dead forest, it is actually their stronghold and safe place with houses built out of the roots below. The Pella do not make contact for hundreds of years, staying safe in their home and preserving the energy of the Ancient Civilization.

550 BK - The Dogen are created (The Demons) when The Larka attempt to forcefully bind their souls to living things to escape their shadowy forms. In a huge ritual, over 10,000 Larka were turned into Dogen. They are souls that are infinitely tormented due to their inability to absorb life energy and being constructs of astral energy. They grow very hateful and spiteful due to this and are mistakingly called Demons a lot, but they are no such thing. (Although they are treatied with the demons.) The Dogen look like crumpled, stumpy or irregular animals with the ability to talk. Their physical form is painful and hard to live in and they despise life, wishing to end it just because. Due to their inability to use life magic anymore, necromancy is no longer an option. So they instead just create more Dogen in battle/practice. They also use moderate arcane spells, especially fire and poison.

450 BK - The Nateralus come back and bring writing with them. This throws the nations into a whole new era. Learning writing allows all knowledge to be passed down and history has always been important.

450 BK - The Humans record three books of information. (2-5 Ingame pages long.) The Creation Of Blades - First the blade is concentrated in holy water. Holy water is made by blessing it with Abria the Angel's wisdom, she will cleanse the water with more might than we shall ever need. Then the blade is sharpened on a grindstone after being dried and left out, in a wrap of tanned furs. A priest will pray for 2 hours. The Blade will be sharpened much further and make of better quality by those we worship. The Blade shall then be taken and sheathed by an Angel into a knight's sheath and they shall head off to the forests of the desecrated. They shall fight beats for food for a while. They shall return worthy or not at all, if they die. The knights come back to be inaugurated by An Annexed. The Annexed will tell them to gather three herbs. Whitbane (Causing drowsyness, irritability sometimes.) Deathshade (Causing deep rooted poison and stomach ache.) Latri (Curing almost all poisons and causing a general energized feeling.) The knight is affected long term with an increase to almost all general abilities. Dexterity, Strength, Endurance, Wisdom, Talking, E.t.c. They're bestowed innate knowledge by The Annexed.

The Annexed shall then be killed under orders of utilizing witchcraft. A horrible practice put in place by the angels they follow. No magic shall be of but the light and God. The Archangels tap straight into the power of devastation, the opposition to creation. Weird... The Annexed's body shall be burned, denying them their death practices. It's a terrible situation. The Knight's shall then take their blades and lie them underneath themselves, along their spine, for one night. They shall sleep atop their blade to show their trust in the angels to protect them. If they sleep with extreme fear, they shall be cut but will pass. If they sleep soundly, they shall be protected. If they do not sleep, they are turned away to the forests. The Knights are granted upper middle-class wealth and city-wide guard captian/guards.

Historics of War with the Delves - The Delves are a strange bunch that live far beneath the surface, in our city we've amassed over 200 knights and had planned to strike at their caves and plunder their secrets. We knew we'd have to cross the Thie Mountains, but we did not expect to find The Delves there. We scoured the mountain path for ambushes and found none, instead when we reached Pale Crossing at the top of the mountains, we found our foes. There were only three of them that we could initially see and they told us to stop. We took a few more marches and stopped, calling out to them. "Why are you here? Do you really wish to fight in this climate?" "It is not I who sits in freezing metal armor, you are at a disadvantage. We have the high ground, we have the mobility, we are warm and we have power." Now, as he said these things, various things hapened. "We have the high ground" was followed up by tens of archers standing up to show they were disguised in white clothes with the snow. They all held long, black bows and aimed them at us. We fell into a shield-wall formation and I peered from beneath the wall as he said,"We have the mobility." When he said it, tens to a hundred swordsmen came out of the banks of snow, rushing to the three men's sides. "We are warm." When he said this, one of the original three stepped forward and poured a bottle on the ground that caused flame that wouldn't go out to start. "We have power." As he started saying this, all the archers drew their bows back and the swordsmen raised their swords. "V-Formation." I said to the troops as we shifted the shield wall. We were able to fend them off for a while but lost 8 men for every 1 of theirs. We were forced to retreat down the mountain, hearing The Delves laugh in the wind. Be wise, fellow humans. Learn from The Delves, do not despise them. For their tactical prowess was even able to stop us humans back then.(edited)

>>>>The Three Archangels - About Abria, Delita, and Melume. They are the guardian light we follow to live in the image of god. These humans wish so much to be like the angels...

The First Angel is Abria. She is the angel of love, compassion, purity, hearth, motherhood and inauguration. She is the angel that cares for the wellbeing of all humans and thinks of us as children to her. She is the angel that purifies our water and sharpens our blades. She has only been seen once and was described as being 60 feet tall with 34 wings and 8 eyes. It is said she exists multiple times at the same time and this "overlap" is what gives her the extra wings/eyes.

The Second Angel is Delita. He is the angel of war, defense, machines, weapons, armor, protection and strength. He is the angel that rewards us for our eternal conquest. As we annex places of great value, he makes it worth our while by sending us Angels in the flesh and such. We praise Delita's might as it is said in 830 BK, he fought against Ima and pushed her back to the spirit realm before they could hurt us. It's said Delita's sword burns with a purple and blue fire that consecrates everything it touches.

Melume is the Angel of death, life, love, sadness, wisdom and ignorance. Melume is one who does not speak to us, but instead shows us their conceptual future. They only speak with The Annexed and give them wisdom beyond anything we can comprehend, so we control the Annexed for fear they may misuse this wisdom.

The Delve wrote two books...
Machinations of the Spider's Web - It's about lying, assassins, gangs and high society in The Delve's society. The Spider's Web reflects the society of us Deyela. (Dee-Yeh-La, fluid.) Is one build off of the respect of and individual. Their respect can be earned in anything that earns them, personally, a lot of money. This can include selling very high class, purified "clean" drugs to the top society or dirty drugs to the lower classes. It can include being a master thief, smelting it and selling it. Delves frequently mine to collect things like gold/silver but the journey down is very long and perilous. They normally go in groups of 20/40, taking parallel caves downward and meeting back up. They can use the leech sprayers to create passageways as well. But must be careful as the unrefined metal will melt as well.

You can also gain this reputation from being in a gang, but you will not be as respected as officials and top business men/women. You do become, if you wish, a high priced assassin for those in the top. But that usually results in a deregulated relationship with the other ones. Some may still come to you with more contracts, but be careful. If it's known it's you, you will be kicked off the stalagmite with 300 leech sprayers. They break your fall with their gelatin-like bodies and ability to grip the stone/each other very hard. Their terminal velocity is low though, but they wont die from the fall, maybe 1-4 from you landing. Then they part and are commanded to create a huge tunnel downwards, your last gift to their society in their eyes. You will have to work up from very low.

From here, you can do one of three things. You can Mine, you can Kill Monsters, or you can learn to make chems. You cannot sell bad drugs but instead sell neutral/beneficial potions. Doesn't make a lot of money. 10$ per 2. Costs 7$ for chemicals to make 2. After 100 sold, increases to 15$ per 2. (Allowing you to make 30$ each time you wait to have full materials.) After 175 sold, increases to 25$ per 2. After 500 sold you will start to gain respect and some medium class people will come to you, trying to buy your chems from you. They'll want to test it for it's purification. Need 60% purified or better to sell it to them. After they accept it, you gain 75$ per 2 sold. Making huge money now! After 800 sold, increases to 150$ per 2 sold. Nice! After 1,250 high society will come to you, inspecting your chems. Requires 98% or better purification. At 98% you earn 250$. At 99% you earn 500$. At 100%, you earn 1,000$.

Silver will gain you respect faster but earns overall less. Every journey, you can carry 16 pounds of silver and up top you can keep 2 pounds. 1 pound sells for 20$. It's dangerous though. After you have 100 delivered, you can join Middle Class.

Gangs will gain you respect the fastest but are the most dangerous. Counter-assassins, assassins, gang members and outright street wars can be difficult to survive.

At 10 missions completed, you can rejoin middle class. At 100, you can join high class.

Silver Miners can later become tunnel guards, being well versed in cramp combat. They are the front lines during an invasion.

Once you're in high society, you may be asking yourself what to do now. You no longer have to work if you do not wish to do so, you no longer need to abide to a schedule... but you do need to keep your reputation. Dances, Dinners, Parties and so on will be the meeting places of high society and you will have to maintain appearances.

Translations of The Deep - The Deep Folk are mysterious and unknown. Their voice only heard by the echoes of the cave tunnels. They speak some language, unknown to us. We call back but never get a response. There was a deep exploration team that went down 2,000 feet into the caves. The Echoes apparently grew louder as they traveled deeper but even after days of journey, they could tell they weren't close to the source at all. It seemed rhythmic and repetitive, saying something like,"De ya ev ow."

The Deep Folk have been seen watching us on multiple occasions, always seen as a blue light far off into the tunnels that scurries away before we get close. Immeasurably fast as they worm though the tunnels of the planet.

The Kral Wrote two books

The Formation of Society - We have gained strength through Ima. We have gained physical prowress over mighty beasts and humans alike. We are grateful for this in and in return, we sang songs for days after the blessing was given. We have ingrained music into our culture and based off of subtle and grandiose things with relevance to distance away, we can tell where you come from. Music takes it's own turn everywhere in Kral Society. We have deep respect and admiration for the warrior. Many men and women sign up to join The Kral National Army. We disperse ourselves all over our kingdom, fully providing for the soldier. They're allowed to own a home after 4 years of continual service in the same city, paid for by the Kral people. Most money is internal and has very high value though. The Government actually has about 98% of the money, but provides for most people and having 1-2 million coins floating around each kingdom and it's towns is enough for the population. They don't need billions/trillions of things.(edited)

Our Societies Warriors have four main ranks, two high ranks and one legendary rank. The four lower ranks are the following.

Welch - First Year of Service. The Welch is sent around on many miscellaneous things and still have to go to all practice. The Welch is given food and a bed. They're housed on site in the lower barracks. As you earn respect and valor in war, you rank up and gain more things. You're given plentiful food and drink though. The bed is nice, you have a shelf. They still provide nicely. The Welch focuses on sword combat.

Sword-Learner - Second-Third Year of Service. A person of the next rank is adopted to teach you the ways of the blade. They teach you to listen to your blade slowly, taking a long time and a lot of meditation with that blade. They are really good at sword, sword and shield, sword and scabbard and dual sword combat. They're well versed in things like philosophy, spiritualism, logic, understanding and truth. They denounce magic due to their inability to see it's ways, due to being cut off from magic. They understand the blades, though.

Sword-Speaker - Fourth-Sixth Year of Service. A person of this rank is one who can listen to their blade. They have sword-breaks (like sword-magic basically.) They can preform cool feats with their blades, mimicking Kimari. They are deadly warriors, wielding only one blade.

Sword-Singer - Sixth-Tenth year of service. The Elite Warriors. A person of this rank is very well versed in many things and has a connection to their blade that's strong. They can sing a harmony, increasing the resonance of their blade, allowing them to speak to it more clearly. Their swords gain special effects and abilities. They can probably summon swords by now...

Metal-Sung - A special rank, they use tuning forks on their garment, and their sword is one. They can create crazy resonances, creating multiple effects. A sign of mastery... They can create powerful abilities but are many apart. Not a lot of troops end up doing as well as The Metal-Sung. They can sometimes transform their blade ever so slightly.

Drum-Heart - A Special Rank, their sword has harmonized to the rhythm of their heart. The sword can transform a little bit more and they've become even stronger. They've begun to tap into mastery.

Envoy of the Blade - The Final Rank, someone who has mastery is very, very rare. They often become secluded in the wild and are very, very strong. Their blade has powers unseen by many Kral, able to alter reality itself in some cases. Many stories of Envoys have been told, such as the following.

Mely was a female Envoy who stumbled across a battle between us and The Delve. We weren't as fooled as other societies were, but we didn't fair perfectly either. Mely drew her blade as ten swordsmen ran towards them. We only saw a draw, but all ten of them fell to the ground. Their wounds festered with ash from the blade. She put her hand on the hilt and fire started to spew from the Scabbard. The enemy charged, 200 in all with probably 60 archers. All we saw were tens of chems, arrows, stones, daggers, e.t.c. were being thrown at Mely. It seemed as though time started to pass slower as Mely drew their blade. From the tip, a long extended blade of flexible light was made. It slowly dragged behind the movement of the main blade, but mely "danced" and cut every single projectile at breakneck speeds. Over 100 things in the course of 3 seconds... Mely finished this by stabbing their sword into the ground. Where the edge of the light-blade had hit, a line was drawn. Those lines expanded outwards, missing all allies and striking all foes, instantly killing all of the enemies.

The Kral also wrote a book about their Godess, Ina. They still give worship for the chance that she may see, although they may never contact her again. They're saddened, but hold resolve that she is watching.

-they have another book about their interactions with Inna before they were given the blessing.

Pt. 2

The Mechin Wrote one book that was spread

The Deviations of Magic - The Magical School of Elements and Constructs is one not for those who are not wise. The Art of Magic is one reserved for those who have the passion, intelligence and logic to overcome any barrier. We prefer not to fight and to solve situations in different ways, not revealing ourselves and our intent. The Magical School of Logic - The School of Logic teaches Illusion, Alteration and Status magic. Illusion is domination of the mind, imagination, dreams, thinking and sometimes, free will. Alteration is that of re-arrangement. Earth Elements, Water Elements, Armors, Barriers, Cures. Status magic is that such as blind, torpor, slow, stun, e.t.c. The Magical School of intelligence - The School of Intelligence teaches Fire Element, Lightning, Darkness and Time elements. it teaches enhancement and buffing. Enhancement makes new things possible, glide, float, fly, speed increase, jump, e.t.c. Buff applies to stats. HP buff, ATK buff, e.t.c. It also teaches the user shields against other spells. The Magical School of Passion teaches unique skills to every person, they learn about their own magic and bring it to fruition with excellent control. Passion is often considered the most important of the Schools, although many dispute this. The Magical School has a 4 rank system. Student - Has no mastered schools. They're just learners. Acolyte - Is sent on gathering missions with good rewards, sometimes powerful fights. Has mastered one school of magic. Deva - Is sent on more dangerous missions and to recover artifacts (some to keep!) Have mastered 2 schools of magic. Tre-oo - Is sent to take on mythical beasts for strange and rare rewards. Have mastered 3 Schools of Magic. Very rare.

2019.01.15 15:14 Novaccentric Let's talk about recommending games to Asmon, and play a game while we are at it.

Let's face it, there are a lot of good game out there, way too many for Asom to look at them all. So I think that finding a way to evaluate what types of games Asmon would be more likely to enjoy would be worth putting some thought into. That way we all save some time and disappointment from recommending a bunch of games that are so far off his interest meter it's just a plain waste of time.

How should we do this? Well, there are 3 ways that I can think of off the top of my head.
  1. Have Asmon lay out a set of criteria that he is using to establish if he is interested in a game in an open space for people to look at when thinking about what games to recommend.
  2. Have Asmon take a Bartles gamer taxonomy quiz to get an idea of what type of online gamer he is. This would mildly narrow down the types of games that could be recommended, but would likely be less efficient than option 1. (Though both option 1 and 2 would obviously be better)
  3. Analyze the reactions Asmon has given to certain games, such as why he wants to play 1 vs not play another after watching their trailers, then create a framework similar to option 1 based of that data.

Option 3 is the only thing we would be able to do without Asmons direct input, and at this time I'm feeling too lazy to do option 3. Though I may do it for science at some point if I get too bored.

I'll leave it up to you guys what you think is a good idea, as I am not sure what would be the most efficient thing to ask. Actually, that's a lie, it's probably option 2, as option 1 is probably to much work to ask Asmon to do on stream if I'm being realistic.

As for the game. I'm curious what you all are in terms of the Barles taxonomy classifications. You can take a test here: http://matthewbarr.co.uk/bartle/ to find out what you are. Let me know in the comments. :)

2014.03.20 13:47 Anfractuousity First month in - AAR - Thoughts on Brave and a thank you

TLDR - Thoughts on my first month with Brave, what I would do differently if I were starting out right now with a new character, and thanks.
Ok, so looking back on what I've written, I might have had a couple of cans of Relentless too many today, but fuck it.
I've written a couple of walls of text with my thoughts on stuff before, and no-one's shot them down in flames and told me to stfu yet, so I figured I'd do another one, as usual feel free to tell me to stfu and correct my glorious mistakes and ill made assumptions.
I survived re-subbing!
I've tried Eve three times before, never lasting more than a couple of weeks into the 1 month recurring payment, and then I'd cancel it, bored, but seeing potential in the game. I was just not willing to fuck about with shit I didn't find in the slightest bit interesting, in order to play small amounts of an awesome game. BNI changed that, instead of Level 3 high sec missioning and PVE content, feeling safe and secure in my cotton wool concord blanket, mindlessly clicking f1 to kill rats, I've felt alive.
BNI shows you the ocean, they tell you to tread lightly, then drop you in with no land mass in sight, head first into the mind numbingly cold, unforgiving sea of despair. They give you a life vest, but it's 30 metres away through shark infested waters with an undercurrent so strong it could suck a moon through an oil pipe. They tell you how to swim towards it, and make use of the life vest, but you've got to make it through those murky waters of certain death on your own. If you can make it across, if you can get to the life vest, and then work out how to use it to increase your chances of not being ripped to pieces by mutated hammerhead-whale sharks with frikin' laser beams. If you can work out how not to be sucked under by a current so strong it feels like your skin is being pulled from your bones, if you can avoid having your body smashed repeatedly against jagged rocks, each time you think you're free, only to be dragged back under and a different part of your body impact razor sharp boulders, if you can get past the bit where every part of you is on fire from the exertion you're asking of yourself, if you can stay afloat, and take a deep lungful of air once that life jacket breaches the surface. You realise it's a fucking glorious ocean.
You realise that even though it fucking sucked a lot to start with, that you felt anger, regret, fear of loss and stupidity, a feeling of being "that fucking noob" beyond what you thought possible in any other computer game ever. It was worth it. Now you're through that shit, you see how easily you can see the signs of when the sharks are approaching, you can see the tides and the eb and flow of the current, using it to your advantage to propel you to safety, not to drag you under and tear apart your dreams.
Eve isn't like any other MMO or computer game, it's a fucking mish mash of random stuff, piled together in a way that just works, and immerses completely.
Even though it's our mantra (or whatever) it's taken me a while to realise that eve's not about winning, you win in Eve when you have fun, if you're paying for a game and not having fun, then you're doing it wrong. If you're grinding for ISK which you don't enjoy doing, then you're doing it wrong. Eve is not for everyone. I fucking hate most ISK grinds, so I plexed a day after I joined BNI, I don't buy currencies in most games, but as with most things, Eve is different. You can't buy to win, look at fucking Destiny, the dude got billions from his followers using his sub link, but he can't use those billions to press the" I win" button. I wasted most of that cash, messed up on a couple of item trades where I was trying to make my fortune, and have a fair amount tied up in ships, but I ran out of ISK again when we deployed to Sendaya, and plexed again. Now £25 a month on a game, is fucking ridiculous, if someone told me last year I'd be spending £25 on a monthly subscription to a game, I'd tell them to get fucked, and point out 4 games I can buy for that much on Steam and still save some money. For me, in order to get to the bits of Eve I like doing, and the reason why I play the game, I need to either be able to generate a lot of ISK in a way I enjoy (which I haven't found yet) or I can buy a plex, so my time is worth more working IRL, than grinding ISK.
...and then we moved to Sendaya
Suddenly my shitty little life jacket is in a much bigger ocean, and the sharks are fucking everywhere all the time, it's really hard to work out which pack are swimming for you first, let alone try to find a safe way out. Sometimes the only thing to do is to let them nibble on the feet of one of your friends while you swim away like a school girls blouse and try to get on with other stuff, all the time, trying to work out how to get this big assed fucking harpoon to fuck up the day of the sharks. Sometimes that harpoon works, you can fend them off for a while, sometimes it just angers them more and they bring more shark friends to try to teach you the foolishness of your ways, and convince you that this murky ocean of fuck you, isn't meant for you, and that you can't survive up here.
They're wrong, you just have to learn to swim differently, use different life buoys, the currents are different, the predators are stronger, bigger, harder faster.
Just keep swimming BNI, just keep swimming.
Sendaya vs Barle
Sendaya is a fucking shit tonne less forgiving than Barle. In Barle it was occasionally "dangerous" to undock your ship and go afk, more times than not, you'd be ok if you went to the bio and forgot your ship wasn't where you thought it was. Mis clicks, didn't usually cost you your ship. Sure it's possible for that to happen, and Minas, (oh fucking Minas) would punish you if you were careless, but that was about it. You could safely rat and explore 2 jumps away, there was a security mission hub not a stones throw away.
Sendaya is a different league, because we are stepping up in the leagues, we're giving it a go at SOV, the "top" shit in the game. It's going to be hard, there's mistakes and fuck-ups on a daily basis, and just like the rest of Eve, it's a fucking brutal learning curve. For everyone who's short on ISK, and expecting magic SRP to fall from the sky, this does not appear to be the alliance for you. If you're not having fun, pod jump or jump clone back to Barle for a day or two, do some ratting, do some PI, do some exploration, get a bit of ISK in not so much of death trap environment.
As it's not as easy to make ISK in Sendaya for me, as it was for me to make ISK in Barle, I jump clone, or pod jump back to Barle to do it, we were told not to take every single one of our assets out of there, and even if you did, GEEMU has moved in, and the market is still very populated. I know we've been told to burn catch, but that to me personally, doesn't mean burn it with me inside it, I want to help on an alliance level, but I'm not ready to lose all my shit constantly for little strategic gain, if I can not lose my shit (figuratively and in game) and earn some ISK, I'm going to be of more use to the alliance when it comes to strat ops.
For any total newbro looking to make ISK, I personally advise heading away from Sendaya for a while, it doesn't have to be Barle, but if you're up in Sendy, you're going to get clouted by the big boys, and you'll need to learn fast or you'll be haemorrhaging ISK in no time, there is ISK to be made, but it's harder to do so in my opinion.
The sole thing I've found that I enjoy doing to make ISK so far is day trip wormholes, I've only done one with the awesome Crow Vanguard, but I really enjoyed it. I've also just started exploration, and while I don't love it, I don't hate it. Crow Vanguard pays explorers to explore wormholes and scan down sites for them to run. It takes 10-15 mins to do with total noob scanning skills, and if they run it, you get 25% of the loot sent to you, the WH daytrip I did earnt well over 100 mil in loot, so the guy who scanned that down, got a 1/4 of that for 15 minutes work.
Data and Relic sites from exploration can get you ISK fast, I earnt 10 mil in my first hour, and most of that was spent noobing out trying to probe things down badly. As most Explorers use cloaks, it also teaches you about clocking mechanics, which are a very important part of the game to learn, and something which I'm only just fully being able to understand, from using them. I'm also learning to scan down properly, and learning to never have my Dscan not up and running. These skills are second nature to older players, and they are ESSENTIAL for surviving in Sendaya.
If you can't use a cloak yet, add it to the "to train list" it doesn't take very long. (I know everyone says that about everything)
That brings me along nicely to my "what I would have done differently" section.

2014.02.09 19:37 AmranShardani AAR:Newbro Nullsec Exploration Fleet

So today I decided it was time to try my hand at FCing, and at passing on some of the knowledge I have gained during my 2 months as a Brave Newbie.
Thus I created a fleet to go and do some exploring in Cloud Ring. After a while about 10 people had joined up, ranging in skill level from newbros that had never even launched a scanner probe to skilled veterans that run 5 ghost sites before breakfast. We managed to dodge an 80 man fleet that was passing through, and after bouncing around to avoid a lone Sabre who was obviously out hunting we ducked into TN-T7T.
In TN- we found a buch of sites that we proceeded to run. The Sabre spooked us by poking his nose into the system occasionally, but seemed to be content to stay parked on the (only) gate. That situation suited us just fine, so we calmly robbed all the space-graves gathered all the valuable archaeological data and evidence of piratical activity. Once all the sites were done we loaded up all the valuable loot onto the Tengu that had joined us and headed back to Barl. To no one's surprise there was a gatecamp waiting for us on the 77-K side of the gate, which resulted in a couple of us getting aboard the pod express for the trip back home. Still we managed to bag 15M worth of loot each, so economic victory! Hopefully all the newbros enjoyed their taste of nullsec exploration and will join again in future. I certainly enjoyed my first taste of FCing and hope to get some more practice soon.

2014.01.29 00:58 Calamity701 Newbro Exploration Fleet

Newbros, Bittervets, Spais, lend me your ears;
I come to teach players, not to awox them.
The ISK that capsuleers do lives after them;
The fun is oft interred with their ships;
The noble BOB had told you Calamity was ambitious:
If it were so, it was a grievous fault,
and grievously would Calamity answer it.
Here, without leave of leadership and the rest --
for the leadership are honorable man;
So are they all, all honourable men--
Come i to speak about the exploration.
It was my destiny, fun and just to me:
But the players say it is fun;
And the players are almighty.
We hath brought many rewards home to Rome
Whose value did the general coffers fill:
Did this in Calamity seem ambitious?
When that the othes have cried, Calamity hath wept:
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff:
Yet the players say he was ambitious;
And the players are all honourable man.
You all did see him bring back his riches,
He himself hath held the loot of three fleets,
which he did thrice share instead of take: was this ambition?
Yet the players say he was ambitious;
And, sure, he is an honourable man.
I speak not to disprove what the players spoke,
But here i am to speak what I do know.
You all did envy him once, not without cause:
What cause withholds you then, to learn from him?
O judgement! thou art fled to brutish beasts,
And men have lost their reason. Bear with me;
For you may also gain these riches.
And I must pause till it come back to me.
For those reasons, i hath to ask you,
would you fly with me?
For I think thou shall learn,
How thou shall gain riches like me.
SORRY GUYS, RL JUST MESSED UP MY PLANS. NO FLEET TODAY, I WILL SCHEDULE A NEW ONE SOON.
Hello Bravebros,
My name is "Calamity Inkunen". I am moderator of the "Brave Explorers" Chat Channel + Mailing List. After so many new players have joined this corp, i would like to introduce other players to the art of exploration.
Why should i be interested in Exploration?
A simple Exploration Frigate costs 1-2 mil ISK. You can make between 10 and 100 million ISK per hour using such a ship, depending on your luck and skill. The risk is rather low because you only risk a small, cheap frigate and data/relic exploration involves no PVP or rat killing (unless other people try to hunt you down. That's where part of the fun is XD)
What do i need?
A scanning frigate (Magnate, Heron, Imicus, Probe), microwarpdrive, data analyzer, relic analyzer, Core Probe Launcher, 8 Core Probes. I would recommend a Microwarpdrive (you will have to fly up to 50 km between cans to hack) and cloak (I will teach the MWD + Cloak trick, but it is not mandatory if you don't have the skill/ISK to fit one).
I will cover fitting before we move out of barle, just make sure you have at least the skills "Astrometric", "Hacking" and "Archaeology". "High Speed Maneuvering" and "Cloaking" would be good skills to learn, too, but they are not mandatory.
If you want to bring a different ship, feel free to do so. But you may not be able to test the stuff you learn without those modules and the scanning frigates are cheap + give a bonus to scanning and hacking.
Where will it take place?
We will start in "Barleguet VII - Moon 6 - Center for Advanced Studies School". The first part of the fleet will consist of fitting information. After that we will form up in the staging POS and move out to lowsec to train scanning + hacking in easy sites. In the end we will go to nullsec to learn survival in nullsec.
When should i be there?
The fleet will be up @ 15:00 Eve. I will start my explanations at around 15:15 Eve. I hope to start the 2nd part at around 15:30 Eve, but depending on the amount of questions i get i will have to postpone that.
I may do another fleet for US Timezone sometime in the future if there is enough interest.
I have questions, what should i do?
You can ask in the comments, ingame ("Calamity Inkunen"), in the "Brave Explorers" mailing list and "Brave Explorers" chat channel.
Please don't judge me for my poor english and what I have done with shakespears text...

2014.01.04 16:51 Braktash Industry/PI/Mining/other stuff alt

Motivated by the "Power of Two" offer and after seeing the only Data Analyzer I available in Barle costed (cost?) 100k ISK (at that time) I've recently bought a second account I intend to use for constructing stuff, PI and for mining/harvesting stuff. I'd like to be able to actually undock in Barle without having to manually make an insta undock on my main and then somehow transferring it over to my alt - and mining on my own is only half the fun, and pretty dangerous in low/null (Also, I've grown quite fond of this alliance in the last month, and it would be a shame if my alt isn't part of it). So would there be any BRAVE corp that would want me/that I would want? And if yes - which one(s)?

2013.11.20 00:45 Pawnbroker Question about Wormholes, gas clouds and combat sites

So I've been going out exploring around Barl a lot and I'm pretty much only interested in Data and Relic sites for the time being.
Though I often find wormholes, gas clouds, and combat sites in my scanning. If anybody is interested in these it doesn't take me a lot of time to go get a bookmark for the location that I can then pass on via private contract.

Is exploring low sec worth the risk of being ganked? What precautions should you take to avoid being ganked?
What minimum skills should you have before heading to low?

My more specific question is - if you get yourself in a nice quiet system and start scanning, and say, land on a Data site in low sec - if local spikes (newbs: Someone enters "local" on chat) what should your next few steps be?
Cloak up until they're gone? Head to a station? If they stay put is it best to assume they're scanning you down and move on.
Thanks in advance :)
[Edit] I know there are a lot of guides out there - but the purpose of this request is region-specific to low-sec (Around Barl, etc) and asks for personal experiences of exploration.
